How do I book an experience at Tension Twisted Realities?

What do I do if I’m running late?

Ring as soon as you can to let us know! Unfortunately, we cannot promise that we can accommodate late bookings as there may be further bookings in the same room after your allotted time, but we will do our best.

What do I do if I want to cancel/change a booking?

Please contact us via Facebook/email/phone to let us know. We will sort out an alternative arrangement for you upon request.

Accessibility

Are you wheel chair friendly?

We have removable ramps for wheelchair access into the main building.

Most of our escape rooms are accessible in a wheelchair (please contact us for more information)

Our Virtual Reality suites are on the 1st floor which is only accessible by the use of the stairs.

The toilets are accessible via a removable ramp from downstairs.

What are Tension Twisted Realities Escape Rooms?

Our Escape Rooms are where you, Agents, must complete one of six missions in 60 minutes, using deductive reasoning to solve puzzles and riddles, whilst working as a team.

Are the Escape Rooms the same as other company's rooms?

No, with us being an independent company all our rooms are designed by ourselves and exclusive to us (not an out of the box generic room like franchise companies)

Why Tension Twisted Realities?

It is different, challenging and great fun. Perfect for friends, family, and co-workers. We can provide for small and large groups and are more than happy to listen to individual requests and accommodate them where we can. We do corporate team building events, children’s birthday parties and hen/stag dos! We do our best to cater for the disabled, any queries just ask, we’re more than happy to help.

Is there an age restriction?

While there is no restriction on age the puzzles may be too demanding for those under 10, we do have a star rating on each room to display the difficulty. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Toddlers and babies are welcome, but some rooms can be noisy so if you’re unsure do ask.

Are the Escape Rooms scary?

Two of our rooms do have some jump scares in them, these are our Plague and Victorian Inquisition rooms. All our other rooms are not scary in the slightest! The rooms are also large enough to not be an issue if anyone happens to suffer from claustrophobia and the doors will always be left unlocked if anyone feels that they need to leave the escape room at any time.

What should we wear when playing?

No special attire is required. Just dress comfortably.

Is there a minimum or maximum team size?

2 as a minimum and 6 as a maximum, however, we would recommend teams of 3-5 as these are the optimum numbers for the games and allow everyone to participate.

How much time will we need to play?

Each escape room is one-hour long. You need to arrive 10 minutes before your booked slot to allows us to brief you on your mission. Once your game is complete, we will review with you how you did, and if successful we will take a picture to commemorate your day on the company’s social media accounts (with your permission). So please allow around 1 hour 30 minutes from arrival to departure.

Do you have anywhere to store personal belongings?

We do have lockable spaces where you can keep bags and other personal items whilst in the rooms, we give you the key, so you know it’s safe.

Am I able to take my mobile phone in the escape room?

All phones must be left away in one of the lockers provided and not taken into any escape room.

Virtual Reality

Am I able to wear my glasses while doing VR?

Yes, most sizes/styles of glasses can be worn with the headset

Is there an age restriction?

We believe that VR is something that does not have age limits. We are able to find an experience suitable for almost any age. However, due to the size of the headset we do not usually recommend the experience for the customers younger than 6 years.
We do make exceptions about younger customers; however, they should be accompanied by a parent/guardian throughout their booking. Please note, certain games have their own age recommendations.

I’m not really a gamer, is VR for me?

Definitely. We believe VR is for everyone regardless of their interests, age and tech-knowledge. That is why we are providing a huge array of both games and VR experiences to make sure that any customer finds something to their taste.

Can I extend my booking while at the venue?

Of course, you can. If we do have availability, you can book extra time straight away.

Are there any tips to make my visit any safer?

We take safety seriously and have taken many measures to make sure the experience is as safe as possible. We have curtain divides and carpeted floors that match virtual gridlines that pop up in your headset when you get close to the wall to prevent you from walking into or hitting the wall. We require all players to use the wrist straps attached to the controllers when playing. The cables are mounted above the player and attached to the ceiling to prevent tangling and getting physically caught in them. Our VR games are very immersive - this is a gentle reminder not to put your weight on anything in the VR world as it isn't really there! Please avoid leaning or sitting on any virtual objects - no matter how tempting!
